Behind the scenes at Berkey Creamery with Todd Gantt

Todd Gantt, Production controller at the Berkey Creamery has been part of the Berkey and Penn State family for over 15 years. As a State College native, the Berkey Creamery has always been a staple not only in his town but also in his heart. He attended Penn State and worked as a cashier during his undergraduate years and he couldn’t leave it. 

As the Creamery grew and was relocated from Borland to the Food Science building Todd followed. Throughout technological advances in equiptment and numerous promotions Todd Gantt paved his way into becoming production controller with a main focus in health.

He takes pride in providing his customers with top of the line products that they can depend on. In the production factory he holds an important role in making sure that the creamery is up to the highest standards in sanitation and health codes. In order to do this he supervises the workers and even gets on the production floor to make sure everything is up to par. Numerous advanced machines are involved in this process in order to keep Berkey sparkling clean.

Todd believes that he will always be a part of the creamery family.  He enjoys being involved in the behind the scenes aspect of production. But it’s the smile on the face of the customers that makes his job worth it.  He continues to revolve his career around the safety of his customers.

Berkey Creamery assistant manager, Jim Brown gives insight into technological advances in the Creamery that are on going in order to create a safer environment. In the next year the creamery will get their biggest facelift when it comes to production equiptment. With the installation of the X-ray machine customers are sure to get the safest products.
