VAWA Timely Warning Alert

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – University Park Police are searching for a suspect in a Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) report, following a stalking incident on Thursday night.

The incident occurred at around 5:20 p.m. in the Hetzel Union Building (HUB).

According to the report, an unknown man entered the restroom and recorded the victim, a Penn State student.

She returned to the same restroom moments later, and the suspect repeated the offense. When the student confronted him, he struck her in the face and fled the scene.

The suspect was described to be a 5-foot-10, black male, around his 50s.

At 9:15 p.m. the University released information about the incident to students via the Timely Warnings system.

Officers are still investigating the incident, and encourage anyone with any information about this, or any other incident, to come forward.
